Frequently Asked Questions
What exactly is an Asian handicap?
An Asian handicap is a betting style that gets rid of the draw by giving one team a goal head start (or deficit). It first became popular in Asian betting markets, and it’s loved for its more even odds plus the chance of getting your stake back (a push) on certain results.
What's a quarter handicap all about?
Quarter handicaps (like 0.25, 0.75, 1.25 and so on) divide your stake evenly across two neighbouring lines. Take -0.75 as an example: half your stake sits on -0.5 and the other half on -1.0. Because of this split, you can end up with a half-win or a half-loss.
What happens if my bet pushes?
A push happens on whole-number handicaps when the adjusted score finishes exactly level. When that’s the case, you get your entire stake back. With quarter handicaps, one half might push while the other half wins or loses, which gives you a partial return.
How do I make sense of Asian handicap lines?
A minus handicap (such as -1.5) means your team has to win by more than that margin. A plus handicap (such as +1.5) means your team can lose by less than that margin and your bet still wins. A zero handicap (0) is ‘Draw No Bet’, so a draw simply returns your stake.
